Efficient pumping, mixing and solids handling using steam jet technology
New Field Eductors are precision-engineered devices developed to enhance heat transfer in surface-type heat exchangers and provide accurate control of superheated steam temperatures. Widely used across power generation, refinery and process plant applications, they play a vital role in maintaining process stability by balancing steam demand, managing excess heat and supporting efficient thermal performance throughout the system.
Designed for reliability, adaptability and long-term operational consistency, New Field Eductors deliver effective desuperheating performance in demanding industrial environments where controlled steam conditions are essential to plant safety, efficiency and product quality
New Field steam jet syphons operate on the steam jet entrainment principle. Steam under pressure is discharged at high velocity through a specially designed nozzle, creating the energy required to entrain the suction liquid, slurry or solids into the syphon.
The motive steam and suction fluid are then intimately mixed within the diffuser and discharged against counter-pressure. As the steam condenses into the suction liquid, it raises the liquid temperature. The degree of temperature rise is influenced by the density, viscosity, specific heat, discharge head and suction pressure of the pumped liquid.
For correct operation, the motive steam must condense completely within the syphon. Steam jet syphons will not operate efficiently if the temperature rise brings the liquid to its boiling point, making accurate process evaluation essential for reliable performance.
| Application Area | Typical Use |
| Liquid Transfer | Intermittent pumping of liquids from tanks, pits and process vessels. |
| Condensate and Filtrate Removal | Removal of condensate from surface condensers and filtrate from vacuum vessels. |
| Heated Water Supply | Supplying heated water to the jackets of stills, graining bowls and similar equipment. |
| Chemical and Pickling Operations | Removing liquids from pickling baths and extracting chemicals from reaction chambers. |
| Material Handling | Moving powdered materials, granular products, slurries and solids in process systems. |
| Tank Operations | Filling and emptying gas holder tanks and other process vessels. |
| Textile and Food Processing | Handling soap solutions in textile plants and pumping sugar juice or process liquids in canning plants. |
For applications where water is preferred as the operating medium, New Field can also offer jet ejectors designed to pump and mix liquids and handle solids using water instead of steam. These systems provide an alternative solution where process conditions, utility availability or operational requirements make water-operated equipment more suitable.
New Field combines practical application expertise, robust engineering and proven steam jet technology to deliver syphon systems that are simple to operate, economical to own and dependable in demanding industrial environments. Each solution is selected and configured to support safe, efficient and long-term process performance.
